Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about VoltLab services, payments, and how it all works. Can't find what you're looking for? Email us directly.

01 Payments & Deposits
The $50 deposit confirms your slot and covers our time to prepare — sourcing any parts, blocking the right amount of time, and doing pre-work specific to your service. It gets deducted from your total, so you only ever pay the full service price spread across two steps, not more.
Stripe redirects you straight to the Calendly booking page for that specific service. Pick a date and time that works, and you'll get an instant confirmation email with all the details. No extra steps, no follow-up required from you.
The remaining balance is collected after the service is complete and you've confirmed everything is working. Your technician will collect on-site. We accept:
  • Card (Stripe payment link sent on completion)
  • Venmo or Cash App
  • Cash
If anything isn't right, we fix it before you pay the remainder. That's the whole point of the two-step model.
Yes. All deposits are processed through Stripe, which is PCI-DSS compliant — the same payment infrastructure used by Amazon, Shopify, and most major e-commerce platforms. VoltLab never sees or stores your card details. You're taken directly to Stripe's hosted payment page, which handles everything securely.
Life happens. If you cancel more than 48 hours before your appointment, we'll issue a full refund of the deposit. Cancellations inside 48 hours are non-refundable as we've already blocked time and prepared. In either case, email us at rillaconnectedbusiness@outlook.com and we'll sort it out directly.
02 Booking & Scheduling
The four steps:
1. Click a service card → 2. Pay $50 deposit via Stripe → 3. Stripe redirects to Calendly → 4. Pick your time slot and get a confirmation email.
If you'd rather talk first, every service card also has a free consultation option — just pick a time on the general consult calendar with no payment required.
Yes, absolutely. Every service has a "Book free consult" option that takes you to a no-obligation 15-minute call. We'll go over what's involved, confirm compatibility (especially for hardware installs), and answer any questions. No payment, no commitment.
For most services, we can usually get you in within 2–5 business days. Some AI and automation services can be completed remotely on the same day. For complex installs or if the calendar looks full, booking 1–2 weeks ahead is safest. Live availability is shown directly on the Calendly page after deposit.
Yes — Volt, our Vapi-powered voice agent, is available directly on the homepage. You can call in 24/7, describe what you need, ask about any service, and even book an appointment through the agent. Hit the "Talk to our AI agent" button on the main site.
03 Services
Tesla's ambient lighting system is built into most Model 3 and Model Y vehicles but is locked behind a software restriction. We perform a software-based unlock that activates the existing hardware — no physical wiring, no modification to the car. The result is a fully functional in-cabin ambient light system you can control from the Tesla app.
We install and configure a local large language model on your own hardware (desktop, NAS, or mini-PC). This includes:
  • Model selection based on your hardware specs
  • Inference stack setup (Ollama or similar)
  • Web UI configuration for easy use
  • Full walkthrough and training session
Your data never leaves your machine — no API keys, no cloud billing, no usage limits.
Typically 2–4 hours on-site depending on hardware and how much media you're migrating. We install and configure a self-hosted media server (Jellyfin or Plex), set up remote access, and connect your devices so you can stream from anywhere. You leave with a working Netflix-style setup you own outright.
The VoltLab service fee is a one-time installation and setup charge. The automations themselves may use third-party platforms (Make, n8n, Instantly, etc.) which can have their own subscription costs — but we'll always discuss these with you upfront during the consult so there are no surprises. Many setups run on free tiers indefinitely.
OpenClaw is a hardware device and companion ecosystem for Tesla owners. If you've already purchased an OpenClaw unit and need it professionally installed, configured, and tested — that's what this service covers. Not sure if it's right for you? Book a free consult and we'll walk through it.
04 Hermes Home Agent + Telegram Terminal
Hermes is an open-source AI model built specifically for function calling and agentic tasks — meaning it can take actions, not just answer questions. We deploy it locally on your home hardware so it runs entirely offline, with no cloud dependency. It's then wired to your home systems so it can actually do things: control smart devices, query sensors, run automations, and more.
We set up a private Telegram bot connected directly to your Hermes agent. From anywhere in the world, you open Telegram, message your bot, and it acts on your behalf at home — turning off lights, checking what's running, triggering a script, or pulling data from your local systems. It's like having a command line for your home in your pocket, but you just talk to it naturally.
Your bot is private — only you have the chat ID. Messages are processed locally on your hardware. Nothing is sent to a third-party AI cloud.
At minimum, a reasonably modern computer that stays powered on at home — a mini PC, a spare desktop, or a NAS with decent specs works well. We'll assess your existing hardware during the free consult. If you need a recommendation on what to buy, we can advise on that too. A dedicated home server or mini PC in the $150–$400 range is usually ideal.
We build the integration layer based on what you already have. Compatible systems include:
  • Home Assistant (ideal pairing — full device control)
  • Smart plugs, lights, and switches via local API or MQTT
  • Custom scripts and cron jobs on your home server
  • Local media servers (Jellyfin, Plex)
  • File system access for your local NAS or storage
During the consult we'll map out what you have and design the integration around it.
Yes, fully private. The Hermes model runs entirely on your local hardware — no queries are sent to OpenAI, Anthropic, or any external AI service. The Telegram bot is private by design: only the specific Telegram account you authorise can interact with it. We configure bot authentication and user ID whitelisting as part of the setup. Your home data, your commands, your hardware — full stop.
The AI model itself runs locally and works without internet. However, Telegram requires an internet connection to receive your messages. On your home network (Wi-Fi or LAN), you can still interact with the agent directly through the local web interface we set up. For true offline-first use cases, we can discuss local trigger options during the consult.
05 Location & Support
We're based in North Texas and serve the greater DFW metro — including Dallas, Fort Worth, Plano, Frisco, McKinney, Allen, Garland, Irving, Arlington, and surrounding areas. If you're unsure whether you're in range, book a free consult and we'll confirm.
Yes — several services can be completed fully remotely via screen share or remote access:
  • AI business automation
  • Email automation
  • Vapi voice agent setup
  • Linktw deep links
Hardware installs (Tesla lighting, OpenClaw, private cloud, Hermes agent) require an on-site visit.
Every service includes a full hands-on walkthrough at the end of the appointment. After that, you get 30 days of follow-up support via email for any questions or minor adjustments. If something stops working because of our setup within 30 days, we fix it at no charge. For ongoing maintenance or major changes, we can quote separately.
Email us at rillaconnectedbusiness@outlook.com — we typically reply within a few hours on business days. You can also use the contact form on the main site, DM us on Instagram at @rillaconnected, or hit the "Talk to our AI agent" button on the homepage to speak with Volt right now.
